The first Scottish Ale I recall truly enjoying. This one has a pleasant, appealing flavor. Nice and heavy too. Good on you, Mac!

Bomber from Malt & Vine as Portland Noble Scot. Pours deep dark orange (strong backlight) with a beige head. Light smoke aroma with some roasty malt. Med + body. Flavor is malty with some smoke. Almost peat. Not thinking this is subtle smoke. Not Paradox either, though. Itís definitely not dry, but itís not yucky sweet either. Pretty good drink.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Slightly clear deep brown coloured body with a bright ruby and violet glow and a thick, four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of toffee, cream, malt and some very subdued alcohol notes. Medium-bodied; Deep bittering malt flavours with tons of nuts and a light sweetness. Aftertaste has the faintest amount of spices, some light sugars and a bitter malt flavour that persists. Overall, a decent beer, but not complex nor pungent enough to be good. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Made in Oregon in Portland (PDX Airport - Terminal D) for US$1.99 on 08-December-2013 sampled at home in Washington on 04-February-2014.

Looks a little dark but not black. Its a little strong overall. Smells a little malty. Mild to the olfactory. Yes, noble like my friend doug and scott like me, Iím one quarter.

Sweet, bread crust, fruity aroma; a little bit of smoke. Similar flavors--but the fruitiness (cherry/apple) is much more prominent. Some caramel malt flavor, too.

Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice Amber ale light with Scottish caramel flavors. This was just too light for me.
