Here’s the original honey beer. Crisp and refreshing, with a hint of sweetness. To craft the beer, we enlist the talents of several million local bees for their pure, white clover honey. Our brewmaster then blends the ambrosia with select, two-row barley malt and balances it with prized Willamette hops. While the bees reluctantly part with their honey, The Great American Beer Festival enthusiastically receives it, as they’ve awarded OHB a silver medal in a category with more than 60 blonde ales.

Ugh, when I saw the label, I thought that a honey beer would have a nice sweet flavor. I was sadly mistaken when I tried one. I didn’t taste anything that even resembled honey and worst of all, my friends were drinking a dirt cheap beer that I thought tasted better. I was not impressed.

On tap at the Portland Brewing brewpub. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. A light floral nose, meaty almost. Grainy, a bit of sweetness, frankly pretty dry and grainy, husks, a mellow body. OK.

Bottle from the local Costco. Pours a clear dark golden color with a fairly thick white head on it. Nose isn’t all that appealing - I get just a light bit of sand and wheat to it, and little else. Tastes light and slightly sweet. Not bad, but nothing special.

This beer is absolutely delicious in the bottle, and even better if you can find it on draft. Very highly recommended.

From tap at the Pyramid taphouse in Walnut Creek. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity hoppy and with a hint of honet. Mild grassy and malty flavoured. Bitter and slight grassy finish.

On tap. Sweet honey aroma cut with a slight malt and hop presence. Clear yellow with a pure white head. Mostly sweet flavor of honey and malt with a very light bitterness. Light bodied with active carbonation. Decent beer, fairly refreshing but the finish is a bit too sweet.

Bottle courtesy of unclemike. Medium honey aroma. Yellow body with white head. Flavor of honey and some tartness detectable. Berr is also watered down rater bland.

The aroma is sweet and funky with honey, malt, and dish water. The appearance is hazy gold with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall I don’t really like this it has a nice finish but this is like a macro lager with honey aroma added.
