(Rating #4306)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty yellow color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of spicy yeast notes with light fruity ester and sweet malt. Taste is also a mix between some sweet malt and some fruity ester with a spicy yeast finish. The re was some attenuation which is something that cannot be said for every American Triple. Body was about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very solid interpretation of the style.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 8/13/12
Aroma: The nose is fairly heavy spiced, along with clove, Belgian yeast, grass, and some banana
Appearance: Pours a yellow-gold color with a small, fizzy white head that leaves some scattered lace
Flavor: Tastes mid-sweet (malts, yeast), mid-heavy spice, some fruit, and a later grassy bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, a heavy fizzy/tingly carbonation, and a somewhat aggressive, dry finish
This is one of those beers that leaves you wishing it was better. It isn’t absolutely terrible or anything, but unfortunately, it misses on a few too many levels. From the nose to the taste, and on through the palate, there was a lot that didn’t quite work here. Mediocre at best...

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber from Total Wine, Durham. Nice deep golden pour with quite the fizz going on. Nose is, yes, estery but with a demi-sec promise. Lively mouthfeel, and the taste is initially a bit fruity, with some golden raisins and apples, later a strap of yeast, and a welcome dry finish. Not bad.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
bought for the cheap price but this gold tripel hunny has the bubbelgum clover honey has a light odd astringent element to it. A decent basic example of the style. Some good carbonation tingle. Basic but good. A starter Belgium beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber from Secret Santa. Copperish yellow with a nice white head that settles to a thin film. Some light spices and belgian yeast, grains, caramel, some sweet malts, little bit of apple. Sweet, higher carbonation, moderate body, slight edge on the finish with a hint of nail polish and burn.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a 22-oz. bomber into a pint glass at my house on July 30, 2012 (picked it up for $2.99 at KnB Wine Cellars in San Diego, Calif., on July 28, 2012). About two fingers of head. White, gray lacing. Light head/lacing with minimal retention.
Smelled banana, bubble gum, caramel, sweet candy, light cloves, pear and apples. Very nice.
Got a sharp taste of alcohol up front, but then went to a watery blah. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I was right. It got better with honey, caramel and pear. Really grew on me. Picked 4.0 over a 3.5.
Light body. Thin texture. Below average carbonation. Water, but long lasting finish.
Not a bad beer overall, especially for $2.99 for a bomber. I’d definitely try it again.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: NOV 20, 2012 Bomber served in a duvel tulip. Pours a murky golden yellow with a finger of off white head. Aroma is dough, white raisin, banana, clove, and spices. Taste is banana, clove, Belgian yeast and spice, and some mild barnyard funk. Medium mouthfeel and alcohol is well hidden. Better than I expected.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a clear bright golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is moderately sweet, grassy, bread dough with light citrus. The flavor has mild sweetness (less than the nose), grass, bready malts and a hint of citrus. This was fairly underwhelming.
