2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 TheRealMGD (541) - Lakewood, Washington, USA - NOV 7, 2012
Bomber from Winco. Clear, orange-gold pour with a medium, off-white head leaving moderate lace. Nose is citrusy, with a touch of toast. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation. Orange rind, medium toast, light pine, tea, and lemon. Finish is medium and much of the same, if on the lightweight side. Overall, it’s pretty lightweight and not as hop-forward as most left coast IPAs. Below average, even for a summer IPA. Much better out there and they are easy to find.

Portland, Or - John’s Marketplace - 12 oz bottle. Dark copper pour, off-white head, nice lacing. Fresh spruce aroma. Flavor has some nutty accents, some grapefruit bitterness, a hint of chocolate in the back end. Nice, thick rich mouthfeel.

22oz bomber courtesy of Tyler. Unfiltered orange-brown body, creamy off-white head. Pleasant grapefruit hop bitterness, not much dimension...gets soapier each sip. Rather subdued and boring for a new release in 2012. Not "off" and certainly tolerable, but the malts really have no depth, and the hops are boring too. Not one I’d seek out.

Clear copper color. Fruity nose with some hop accent. Light to medium bodied IPA. Tart and crisp on entry with a hint of bitterness on the finish. Pleasant, but forgettable.

Location: 12 oz bottle from the Wine Corner in Paia, Maui, 7/8/12
Aroma: The nose is slightly soapy, some light grass and citrus hops, and a little caramel
Appearance: The pour is a clear golden-orange with a creamy foam of white head and good lace
Flavor: The flavor is lightly sweet, mostly bitter hops, but without a great hop flavor profile
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a fairly soft carbonation, a lightly dry finish, and a slightly off finish
Overall Impression:
This was not my favor example of the style. The nose was a little soapy and the hop profile wasn’t the most impressive even though the bitterness is present. I didn’t realize it was Pyramid at the time of purchase, but that isn’t surprising after trying it...

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Shink (177) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 6, 2012
Pours a dark orange color with a quickly disappearing tan head. Hoppy smell with a nice balance of hops and malt. Fairly light taste that would be good for a summer day or camping trip.

Pours a nice golden amber color with some frothy foam that lasted throughout the beer which let some very nice lacing. Aroma was a floral hoppy scent. Taste of a citrus piney with some nutty notes. Not bad but not my favorite. Nice full filling.
