Pours a hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, yeast, straw and some spices. Taste is light to medium sweet of fruit leading to a fruity, yeasty and clove finish. Pretty good.

Pours a rich, dark, amber colour, cloudy with a quickly dissipating head. Nose is initially hoppy, fading to a very mild fruity bouquet. Flavour follows the nose with a big fruit hit followed by a gentle, hoppy somethingness ... although the alcohol adds a slightly acidic astringency. Overall a nice beer in the abbey style but not to the standard of any Trappist.

Bottle. Pours a nice golden orange. Slightly hazy. Dense offwhite head. Some lacing as the head falls away. Yeast aromas show through initially with bread and banana most prominent. Some malt sweetness and a little caramel also. Great falvours with some malt sweetness, honey, caramel and citrusy hops. Nice dryish finish. Mouthfeel seems to be pretty good. One of the better australian made tripels I have tried. Good beer

Pyobon (996) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JAN 31, 2012
(bottle) Poured hazy golden with some off-white head. Rich fruit and caramel / toffee aroma with lovely floral hints. Full bodied, even oily with plenty of fine carbonation. Flavour is sweet malt / toffee and rich fruitiness at start which develops some peppery spiciness and the high alcohol starts to show through. A good long finish with some slight and pleasant bitterness. Overall an excellent strong Belgian style beer.

Bottle (tasting at Omhper´s) A hazy orange yellow colour with a small white head. An aroma of yeast, citrus and banana.. The taste is medium bitter. A medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation and a medium long duration.

Bottle. Pours golden orange with a creamy white head that never completely disappears. Sweet aroma has notes of honey, banana, caramel, candy and pineapple. Flavour still has some sweetness but not as much as the aroma; there are stronger notes of malt, citrus, yeast, spice and some tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is on the light side, with a lot of prickly carbonation and a medium to long bitter/sweet finish with a hint of sourness. Overall this is a fairly good interpretation of a tricky style, especially for an Australian brewer and the alcohol is hardly noticeable at all.

Bottle. Pours cloudy blond/yellow with a dissipating white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted malts, citrus fruits. Flavour is hop heavy, caramel malts, citrus fruit. Well balanced. Bitter at first then becomes milder and quite smooth. Dry mouth feel.

Pours a hazy brownish amber with a pillowy white head. Aromas of apple, pear and spice dominate, with a bit of banana and a hint of booze. The taste is rich fruit up front - apple, fresh plum - with some cinnamon spice and pepper notes. Despite the boozy scents, the alcohol is well integrated and not prominent at all. Finish is pretty clean, with a nice vanilla/spice aftertaste. This was really good.

Pale in colour, some nice ester aroma there too. Light on the palate but has some slightly hot alcohol there too. Doesn’t come across as being 9.5%, quite light and generally well balanced.
