tap at the brewpub - Did we have the same beer? Or am I just a big MA fanboy? hah, no on the latter... I’ve given MA beers a wide variety of ratings. At any rate, I really like this one. Pours hazy copper with a one finger off-white head that laces nicely. It has a big aroma that’s all hops with citrus and floral characteristics. Loved it. As for the flavor, it’s definitely a hop bomb so if big hops aren’t your thing, stay clear. There’s some citrus flavor and maybe a touch of earthiness. The malt is subdued but is enough to smooth things out so that it’s intensely hoppy but not harsh. There’s a long, bitter hop finish. Excellent brew.

Growler. Brilliant copper pour with lasting white foamy head. Pine/citrus aromas with a touch of caramel. Big hop bite on initial taste. Hops are a little overpowering, NOT a bad thing. The malt is a bit hard to pull out, but there seems to be a bit of balance. A bit soapy. Mouthfeel is medium/full. Good carbonation, nice tingling sensation on the way down. A bit of residual sweetness for the style, not as dry as I would expect but not objectionable. Lingering bitterness in the finish. Be warned, your palate will be shot for a bit after this one due to the hops. Nice beer, and Cheers to the MadBrew Crew.

This brew poured a small sized head of foamy off white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated transparent dark golden red brown colored body that left behind a fair lacing. The palate is strong yet amazingly smooth with a strong hop flavor and a good caramel malt backing. The mouth feel is strongly tingly from start to finish. The aroma was mellow with hoppy notes. This is an extremely good brew with the only weak point being it’s aroma. My hat is off to Todd for this fantastic brew. And Bdigital is way off the mark on this one.

Draft: Just tapped today at the brewpub...pours a hazy orange/bronze with a medium-sized white head with decent retention and lacing. I was pretty geeked to try this initially until I actually dived into it. Nose was incredibly bland and almost nonexistent regardless of when it was first poured or as it started to warm...some notes of light citrus were noted along with some pine and some earthiness. Medium bodied...the flavor on this is what does it in. Starts out fairly dry and bitter with some very light citrus apparent but quickly melds in to a vegetal mess...very off-putting onion flavor resides at the forefront and completely destroys this brew. I truly wanted to like this and I’m sure the MA fanboys, if there are any, will go crazy over this "new hop-bomb" but it ultimately was a letdown.
