3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 ajbitt (47) - , USA - JUN 20, 2009
Aroma: nice, slighty sweet, hops. Appearance: burnt golden, unexpectly dark for IPA in this price range. Flavor: light, hoppy front, but growing almost dirty taste with time. Yeasty, unclean lingering finish. Palate: Silky, soft, nice. Overall: Dirty-tasting IPA, wonderful palate, light, fruity, but long-lasting unclean finish unpleasant.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 patrick767 (2843) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 18, 2006
sample from a 2003 bottle - There’s a nice citrus hops aroma. The alcohol that others mentioned has mellowed with age. There’s a great medium bodied, lightly carbonated mouthfeel. It’s a nice beer, overall. Hopefully they have some bottles to sell this holiday season and I can get one to myself.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 gearbike (510) - West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA - JUL 30, 2005
Looks more like a pale ale when pooring. A basic IPA has the hops but the alcohol is to strong.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 pellertpale (9) - The Fort, Indiana, USA - FEB 6, 2004 does not count
Malted out, and under hopped. Seems about the same hop level as The Ol' Woody, but with to much malt. Needs a more prevelant hop character. Gimme some pine or citrus flavor.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 flemdawg (503) - Naples, Florida, USA - JAN 22, 2004
Draft. Reddish-gold color and a small ring of bubbles round the rim. Aroma was sweet and hoppy all mixed into one. The flavor was mainly hops, but not as much as the name Imperial suggests. As it warmed the alcohol became slightly more evident. A lingering/tingling finsih made me want to sip more.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 temporrari (361) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JAN 6, 2004
UPDATED: FEB 20, 2004 Not bad. By no means a competition level IIPA, but pretty good, and locally brewed. I liked it. Tasted a bit too strong of alcohol. Almost made me cringe lighty, the way a shot of liquor would, but not as much as liquor would. It's ok, but I don't think I'll pay for it again.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 hotstuff (3249) - Indiana, USA - DEC 24, 2003
Draft. A medium sized ivory head with fine-small sized bubbles that mostly dissipated. The body was uncarbonated and somewhat hazy with a golden hue. The nose was very hoppy and sweet with a bitter and very hoppy flavor which had a lingering aftertaste to it. The mouthfeel was hoppy as well. This beer had fair lacing on the sides of my glass.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 thedm (4126) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - DEC 24, 2003
UPDATED: DEC 27, 2005 Current year: 5-3-6-4-12
This draft brew poured a medium sized head of medium sized off-white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a slightly hazy light brown colored uncarbonated body and a fair lace. The aroma was hoppy and mixed with a grassy horseblanket odor while the mouthfeel was initially mildly hopped and finished with a lingering mild hop bite/ The flavor was mild with hops and spice. It was not as hoppy as I expected for an IIPA.
2003 Vintage bottle 7-4-8-4-16 much better when aged!
