Draft...had this many times in the past, might as well rate it. Pours a cloudy pink color with a very nice light pink head. Nose is mainly malted wheat and raspberry puree...and that’s it. Medium body. Fresh raspberries, light wheat and a bit of pale malt. Very one dimensional but that’s what it’s supposed to be. Not as bad as the ratings indicate.

Draft sample at brewpub. Pours pink, hazy with white head. Nose of raspberry juice. Taste is all raspberry with mild, crisp, bitter ending. Lots of fruit - little beer.

On tap at brewery...Doesn’t taste like a wheat beer whatsoever. Raspberries were very tart, which tended to overpower any other flavors that may have been present and make this one taste somewhat un-beerlike. Still, I found it very tasty mainly because I love raspberries.

sample at brewery - Aroma is sweet raspberries and wheat. Pours cloudy pink with small head and decent lacing. Flavor matches aroma. Palate is bland. This one just doesn’t work for me, too simple and not tasty enough.

Draft - Cloudy pink color, very distinct raspberry aroma... it goes down easy and the flavor is dominated by the raspberries. There’s some malt there too and little hops balance to be had. It’s too thin on the palate. The bartender told me that many people ask for it to be mixed half and half with one of the other beers. Given the thin palate and dominate raspberry flavor, I can see why. It’s alright, but you better want something fruity and sweet.

Draft at Mad Anthony Brewing. Cloudy reddish color with a small head that diminished quickly. Raspbeery aroma. Light body. Raspberry flavor with small wheat finish. Brew it, don’t infuse it.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2007 Bottle. Nice fresh raspberry malt aroma. Ruby red color - cloudy but next to no head. Flavor a disappointment - watery raspberry flavor - little malt flavor and no hops. Pretty blah. Rerate 5/30/07 - better flavor and body - flavor more tart and full.

UPDATED: OCT 23, 2003 Ft wayne pubcrawl '03 (did I mention the gyro at Munchies??--better than the beer rategyro.com) Nice cherrywood color, malt-like aroma;too thin in texture; raspberry only in the finish.

Ahh! Raspberry syrup! Where's the beer? Ruby Raspberry was a reddish-brown beer with an off-white head. Aroma and flavor were raspberry syrup; no more, no less. Again I ask, where's the beer? Apparently it is difficult to make a good raspberry ale.

I absolutely did not like the taste of this brew because of the raspberry taste and too strong of a raspberry aroma! All I could taste was raspberries. No thanks!
