Double Chocolate Stout is served on nitrous tap at Brew Keeper. The appearance is of a very black stout, with a thick, medium-brown creamy head. The aroma smells of a roasty chocolate, and the beer finishes very smoothly on the palate.
argo0 (6176), Washington DC, USA Aug 9, 2008 BCTC, (22oz bottle, thanks rudolf) Cola black body topped by medium brown head. Aroma is moderately sweet, alcohol, chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet, cocoa, some alcohol, light roast. Boozy medium body. alexsdad06 (620), Ohio, USA Aug 1, 2008 Sample @ DLD ’08 shared by ??? Pours dark brown with a smaller ecru head. The aroma is roasted malt, dark fruits (plums), dark chocolate, and honey. The flavor has nice roasted malt, cocoa, sourness that come when sweet stouts go bad, slight metallic, and molasses. Medium bodied. Tough to finish because the tartness was distracting. ucusty (1062), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 23, 2008 Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville NC - thanks to dankman38 for this bonus! Dark brown pour with a molasses or honey like aroma. Weird flavor very similar to an infected beer. JCB (1014), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 21, 2008 Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville - thanks to whoever brought this (Tom?) for sharing! I really thought this one was a mess. The aroma was indistinct but inoffensive. The pour was nice and full, though the body was less thin than expected based on this. However, the taste was borderline foul - an icky, tart, spoiled concoction that had little to do with chocolate to me. No complexity, just a mistake. emacgee (1055), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pours a dark brown that shows some light with a thin pale tan head. The nose is sweet and warm, chocolate, roasty, some honey. The flavor is dry, metallic, lightly roasty, sweet, and astringent. The palate is astringent. Not very pleasant.
