July 2008: Mad Brewer Blackberry Pils is honey-colored and hazy with a thin beige-colored head. It smells malty and has a really subtle berry quality. There is a good maltiness (slightly caramel) in the flavor along with some grassy/floral hops. The blackberry is there too, but is is definitely not in the forefront and it tastes real. This beer has a medium-light to medium body and average mouthfeel. Overall this beer is well-done and feels bigger than a Pils.

Enjoyed on-tap at the brewpub.Infusion of flavour, it tastes like a lager with flavour albeit a bold strong dark fruity one, infused. Cheesy pilsner aroma. On the sweeter side. Drinkable. Saaz hops.

Draft sample at BK/MB. Poured amber color with an average white head that mostly lasted and produced fair lacing. Medium fruity aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Moderate sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of short duration. Ok brew, not my style.

Slight fruity aroma from the berries but it’s buried in the flavor by the malt and some hops. Clean. Easy drinking.
