Strong hop flavor and a clear amber colored pour, with a creamy head. The hops are strong, but it has a smooth and long-lasting finish.
Ja_Bier (15), Capital City, Ohio, USA Oct 11, 2008 Sample from 22oz bottle at the Brewkeeper tasting at Blacklick Wine and Spirits on 10/9/08. The second of four IPAs sampled this evening. Pours an opaque copper. Smell is very sweet and malty with only the slightest touch of hop - this doesn’t bode well. Now to taste...WHOA! Aroma is in no way representative of the flavor of this fine ale. First sip is almost too hoppy, but let’s face it, you can’t base your opinions on one sip (especially during a tasting when there’s so much messing with your palate). Every subsequent sip down to the last is identical with the perfect balance of big hop flavor and a touch of sweet malt. Aside from the aroma, a superb IPA and definitely my favorite offering of the evening so far (barely edging out White Storm). Fantastic beer. hopdog (4649), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 10, 2008 22oz bottle acquired in trade with goryshkewych (thanks!). Poured a deep and cloudy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Some floaters. Aromas of citrus, floral, and light toasted caramel. Tastes of oranges, grapefruit, pine, and caramel. Has a sweet balance to the bitterness. BeerVirgin72 (599), C-Bus, Ohio, USA Oct 10, 2008 Bottle sampled at Blacklick Wine and Spirits Tasting held on 10-9-08. I rated lower on appearance as all these samples were out of plastic cups. As stated in previous rating, not a fan of IPA’s. Flavor was orange and grapefruit, but this one had some sweetness to it that i enjoyed. Perhaps a caramel malt. I actually enjoyed this one! Moggman (54), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber with off white head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Flavor is of oranges with good sweetness and balance. bu11zeye (3780), Frisco, Texas, USA Sep 24, 2008 (22oz. bottle) Pours an amber body with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel, grapefruit, orange, and pine. Flavor of hops (citrus, pine) and caramel malt. Nicely balanced.
