Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Poured black w/ beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma was of chocolate and blueberry. Flavor was bitter with pine and sour fruit (kinda tasted the way a wet dog smells!). Smelled better than it tasted.

22 oz bottle. Pours a dark black body with a rather large frothy brown head. An attempt to gush was made after I uncapped but with glass in hand I prevailed. The nose is roasty with a bit of a lactic and metallic tinge to it. Almost smells like it might be infected, we shall see. Yep, this guy has an infection going on. It starts off pretty nicely, with a chocolate syrup and roasted malt note. But then the lactic and slightly sour quality dominates on the finish with a good bit of astringency from the malt, making it quite unpleasant. Thin on the palate with a watery texture and a little too much fizzy carbonation due to the infection. It’s not wholly undrinkable, but it certainly can’t be what the brewer intended.

Dark stout body with a fluffy, dark tan head and big streaks of lacing. Chocolate coated granola scent with prunes, mild tobacco and ovaltine. There is also a subdued oak port wine aroma, wonderfully done. Medium bodied and balanced, there is a nice soft creaminess to this one. Roasted bran, toasted nuts, creamy chocolate, and dark fruits with vanilla. A faint whiskey and a calming bitterness tie this together. Extremely impressed by the goodness in this bottle

650ml bottle
On clearance for $3.99 I picked up a bottle of this out of curiousity. It turned out to be decent enough that I may buy another bottle if it ever gets released in a smaller format. Otherwise it is your average sweet stout - not too rich but not too flawed either.

Aroma / Appearance - The medium black body was fluid with a head the color of unstained wet pine. Chocolate milk, ash, and some sort of dark fruit create a competent aroma that gets the job done but is not too impressive.

Flavor / Palate - Malty chocolate balls start and finish this beer’s impression on the throat. Ash and coffee make appearances along the way but in general this is fairly one dimensional. It could be much better but for $3.99 my expectations were low enough that it barely passed.

(22oz bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, maple, raisins, brandy, watermelon, citrus, and apple. Flavor of roasted malt, baked apple, caramel, cocoa, and lactose. Unbalanced, off flavors, mess…

(22oz bomber thanks to bu11zeye) Pours black with translucent brown edges and good lacing. Cherries in the nose (wtf?) yeasty too. Taste is chocolate and caramel and lingers that way too. Nice oily body here as well.
