Shared by goldtwins.Pours with no head and a dark cola color, some tan lacing. Aroma is faintly cherry and lightly musky. Taste is musky with faint aceto and faint sourness. Mouthfeel is light and easy drinking with a bit of an oily feel. It’s not the impressive right now, has a base from which to grow from.

July 2008: Mad Brewer Ned’s Ale is a dark reddish-brown color. It as a creamy khaki-colored head with good retention and provides heavy lacing. There is a dark berry/cherry-like aroma. There are roasty malts and black cherry in the flavor. There is also a burnt note that that works very well and a mild hop flavor and bitterness. This medium-bodied beer has a smooth texture and creamy mouthfeel. Overall this beer is extremely drinkable.

Draught sample (6.75% ABV; Flander’s Style Red Ale) at The Brew Keeper brewpub in North Ridgeville, Ohio. Rating #5 for this beer.

Pours nearly black with a very creamy head, nitro beer I think. Interesting mix of chocolate, cherries and funk. Nicely tart and balanced by sweetness. Tasty.

Poured a clear deep golden brown color with a small off-white head. The aroma was mildy tart with some woody notes. The flavor was tart and acidic with a light malt middle and dry mildly bitter finish.

Bottle shared by goldtwins. Deep brown beer with a thin amber head. Aroma is lightly vanillaish and quite oaky. A bit of dill-like herbal aroma. Flavour is dank and lightly earthy. Quite thin. It tastes like it’s just starting to sour, but it does have some decent base characters, but it just hasn’t come together at all.
