May 4, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with 2 cm of tan head that is slowly diminishing. Initial flavor is balanced and very light, nothing really comes out. Ends kind of nutty. There is some creaminess too. Thin to medium body, some lacing, no noted carbonation, and hint of alcohol noted. OK beer, I think its above its rating, but not by much.

Apr 8, 2008 Bottle from Brigadier. Pours dark brown with a white head. Smells earthy with some caramel. Tastes tarte with some sweet malt. Meh.

Thin dark brown with no real head. Has a nutty aroma that is subtle up front. Flavor is bland and watery. Walnuts are present in the flavor and smell for me. Overall, weak and watery.

Pours a dark brown to almost black with lots of ruby highlights on the glasses edges. Very fizzy light tan head. Smell is wet cardboard like malt and the slightest hint of roast. Too mild of a roasty character in the nose.
Taste is incredibly bland, and thin roastiness. Easily the thinnest porter I’ve ever had body and flavor-wise. Unbelievably thin, in fact. I kept thinking there was some mistake as this was more like seltzer water than beer, much less a porter. Still drinkable, I guess.
