Sample from 22oz bottle at the Brewkeeper tasting at Blacklick Wine and Spirits on 10/9/08. The third of four IPAs sampled this evening, and this one was talked up the most (aside from the imperial). Pours a medium copper color with not much head. Very clean, inviting hop aroma. Mouthfeel is full, but somewhat creamy; not at all what I was expecting. Flavor is malty sweet up front, but finishes with moderate hop. Flavor isn’t bad, but the creaminess takes it down a peg. Hop Fusion is definitely superior.

reddish with large whit head. nose of herbal and citrus hops. firm but not overwhelming before citrus and herbal hop flavor with some low crystal malt flavor before a dry finish without much residual sweetness. a fair amount of yeasty esters, likely an english yeast is used. a solid ipa, average for the style

Bottle courtesy of ROBORB. Thanks! Pours a clear amber color with lasting white head. Smell is mildly hoppy with some melon and light fruity hops. Taste is melony and lightly citrusy with some grassiness too. Medium body and normal to slightly high carbonation. Solid IPA, and a bit better than the average score, I thought.

Nephilium (954) - Ohio, USA - MAY 23, 2009
(22 oz bottle) Starts with a nice strong citrus hop aroma. Pours a clear amber with a big fluffy white head. The flavor start with a strong pine hop blast, mellowing with hints of caramel and some citrus notes. Moderate body, slick mouthfeel. Nothing extraordinary, but a really drinkable local IPA.

On tap at the brewpub, poured a hazy copper with a thin white head. Citrusy aroma, similar taste with some nice caramel sweetness. Nice very drinkable IPA.
