Mad brewer scotch ale. Nice pastel brown poor with low carbonation. Head quickly disappears. Nice malt base comes through with just a little bit of funk on first sip. Gives way to a pleasant caramel like flavour to the beer. Alright scotch ale had better mind.

Experienced on tap at the brewpub in a nonic glass. The beer pours the characteristic burnt amber to medium brown color. The nose is a disappointment, giving far to much in the way of roasted/toasted malt, and not nearly enough melonoidin/Munich malt character. The palate is an improvement, but still falls far short of the malt complexity showed by better variants, such as Old Chub or Traquair House.

Sample from 22oz bottle. Pours cloudy red/light brown with a thin beige head. This one has been sitting for a bit. Hella malty aroma that is sort of tart with a bit of hops and cherries. Malty flavor with a ton of strawberry influence and a boozy hop finish.

This poured a dark red to brown color with an off white head. Aroma was roasted, some caramel, and booze. Flavor is sweet, roasted and a small alcohol burn. nothing bad, but nothing stands out.

Draft sample at brewpub. Poured a clear dark brown color with a moderate creamy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Medium toasted malt and scotch aroma. Medium to full body with a creamy smooth texture. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. A smooth complex drinkable brew.
