Bottle from miketd. Thanks! Pours a dark maroon color with a lasting beige head. Smell is cinnamon, spice, and bright malt. Taste is spiced malt, dark caramel to molassess sweetness, and an odd bready tartness. Medium body and fizzy carbonation. So so.

MAP (1133) - Lakewood, Ohio, USA - DEC 31, 2008
Pour is a dark cloudy brown with a thin off white head. Aroma is loaded with plum, honey, and a touch of ginger, cinnamon and clove. Flavor carries those characteristics nicely, blended with a thick helping of cloying malt flavor. It’s flavor opens with all the spice from the aroma, then it follows with that malt and ends with a bitterness that is fitting to a winter beer.

22 oz bottle **Summary** - I pick up a Mad Brewer every now and then to see what they are up to. A brewery that can make great beers (West 12) and some not so great beers has a decent Christmas seasonal on their hands. This one might be worth trying if you are into winter beers. If you do not like heavily spiced beers then I would suggest avoiding it. **Aroma / Appearance** - A one finger reverse cascading head soon settled into a smooth body that straddled the line between deep brown and light black. The nose reminded me of a mulled spice wine with hints of molasses, ginger bread, honey, and other sweet aspects. Airy it opens up the nostrils. **Flavor / Palate** - Peppermint, molasses, ginger, and decent bakers chocolate create a smooth set of tastes to enjoy. Drinking easily for 10% it sits well on the throat. The second best seasonal in the area this one is worth the $6.99 that I paid for it.

Bottle pours very dark brown with off white head. Aroma is mainly cinnamon and brown sugar. Has a medium heavy mouthfeel. Flavor is cinnamon, brown sugar, biscuit, dark fruit, sublte yeast, and alcohol. There is no burn, but I can taste the alcohol. Overall another interesting brew from this local brewpub. It doesn*t have the typical look and flavors of a christmas ale. And in not such a good way. Just an ok brew all around.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with miketd -thanks!-. One of many Christmas beers I expect to consume tonight and tomorrow! Poured a medium mahogany with a large, 5 finger, off white head. Aromas of honey, Christmas spices, ginger, cinnamon, roast, and some caramel. The spices are the first and foremost in the aroma. Tastes of molasses, Christmas spices, honey, dark cherries, and caramel Had a lighter sour finish that I kinda dug. Alcohol content well hidden.
