COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mason’s Dark Mild is brewed with English malts and English Golding hops to produce a classic English beer style. The dark roasty and malt-accented beer, with hints of toffee and coffee, produces a great balance between juicy malt and earthy hops.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark chocolate brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts with herbal hops. The taste is roast, nuts, mild chocolate, herbal hops. Medium bodied, very drinkable. Well worthy of my 6000th rating!

On tap at Mad Fox. Pours clear moderate brown color with off white head. Nose has slight roasted malt, chocolate, an a slight nuttiness. Flavor is similar with roast on the tongue and a chocolate finish. Body is a bit too thin. Probably needs a slightly-higher mash temperature, at least for my taste. Quite nice and very drinkable.

Cask at brewpub. Pours dark brown with a thin khaki head. Nice caramel notes on the nose. The malt flavor is there but it’s nicely balanced and very quaffable. Finishes clean. Nice example of style.

Cask at Mad Fox. Poured a brown head with a nice, compact creamy slightly off-white head. Aroma was toasted malt, with notes of nuttiness. Flavor was sweet malts, a touch of toasted notes, and a bit of bitter and nut. Very refreshing on a very hot 90 degree day!
