On tap at brewery in Falls Church. Pours copper with an off white head. Fresh citrus aroma with dank pine resin. Flavor is citrus, tropical fruit, with grapefruit zest and pine finish. Been wanting to try this one for a while and it didnít disappoint.

Sample at Industry Night at HomeBrewCon. Orange amber color white head. Huge citrus and tropical fruitiness. Pretty tasty beer, but oddly the server wouldnít allow me to try this beer until I tried his saison first.

Appearance: clear deep orangey copper, with half a finger of creamy light tan head and good lacing. Aroma: bright citrus, heavy on the orange, with definite additional notes of grapefruit, blood orange, and light pineapple, maybe some marmalade. Taste: citrusy for sure, but complemented with pineapple, mango, caramel, toffee, and even a hint of vanilla. Finish: dry but not overly bitter; the hops linger in the flavor but donít kill the palate . Notes: Best by far of the beers I tried there. Full palate but not overly so. Great drinking. Draught at the brewery.

Draft pint at the Nats ballpark. Darkish copper with a small ring of foam. Nose is orange toffee, pineapple, vanilla, earthy molasses and some resin. Tastes of the same stuff with a dryer finish of resin and citrus zest. Light-medium body is to the sweet side for an IPA. Medium carbonation is nice.

Sampler at the pub. Smelling this from about a foot away. Good citra aromas. Tropical pineapple flavors. Decent body behind it. Could drink a lot of this.

Draft at Black Squirrel. Pours reddish amber, fairly dark for an IPA, with haze of white bubbles. Aroma is very resinous: piney Citra hops with notes of pineapple, juicy lychee, and sweet malt. Great. Taste is pine and mango juice with honey-like malts, very drinkable. Some alcohol heat. Sweet and malty finish. Good.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2016 On draft. They?re not kidding with the "orange" part. Some orange aroma, but lots and lots of orange flavor, kind of more orange-plus-tea than orange fruit or juice. Toffee malty finish. Clean and crisp. Solid.

Growler shared by MNishCT77. Thanks Mark! The beer is dark amber with a tan head. Certainly darker than I anticipated. Citra hops are present but only play a supporting role. This beer is the definition of balance, and I donít mean that disparagingly, as is often the case when discussing IPAs and DIPAs. Sweet citrus with a sturdy malt body. Again, the balance is so elegant here. Bread crust and citric hops in perfect harmony. Really tasty. This beer has been on my radar for years. Iím grateful for the opportunity to try it.
