4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft at Mad Fox poured into a nonic pint glass, freshly tapped just 3 hours prior for their First Saturday Brewery Open House. Pours a nice dark amber/orange color with little off-white head. Aromas of orange, grapefruit, citrus peel and rind. Tasting notes of big grapefruit and orange citrus, pine, caramel, floral notes, big hops. Medium body with a dry finish, semi-juicy mouthfeel. Possibly my favorite of Mad Fox’s IPAs.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Last time I had this, it was far and away the best single IPA I'd ever tasted: big, juicy, orange citrus hops layered against a mildly sweet, creamy malt base. That August batch would command a ~4.5 rating from me, and I tend to be pretty conservative.
This growler (filled 3/26) is quite different than my last one over the summer. Dark amber pour is unique to the style. Fluffy white head up top shows good retention.
Palate features accents of orange peel, rather than the previous creamsicle bomb (which I loved). Fresh, juicy citrus from the hops balances nicely against a hearty malt base. Even without the creamsicle flavor, this is still an excellent IPA. Wish they brewed it more often.

They picked the right name for this brew. It describes the flavor profile perfectly. Big old Orange notes on the nose and the orange zest comes thru in the flavoring. A fun beer to drink, I polished the growler off with little effort.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours an opaque amber/reddish with a medium tan head. Aroma is earthy and bitter...i detect none of the citrus or stonefruits they claim to be present in the aroma. Flavor is mostly piney and bitter with a bit of caramel and doughy maltiness...again...what fruit? Mouthfeel is light/medium with an earthy/piney dry bitter finish. Given the commercial description, this is a disappointment.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft. Poured a hazy medium-dark copper with a thin, quickly disappearing white head. Great IPA aroma with the citrus really standing out but not overpowering. Big, bright hop flavors but easy to drink. Didn’t get any orange flavors but didn’t affect the enjoyment. Really nice bitter finish on the backside.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at the brewpub. Cloudy deep tea amber pour. Wispy head. Chewy, hoppy nose. Walnut and toffee. Taste is nutty, very oily. Palate quite aggressively bitter and nutty. Don’t get the ’orange whip’ aspect. Not as soft as the Two Hemispheres. Reminds me more of SN Celebration. Fiancé said she got some orange creamsickle out of it.
