Tap at the brewpub. Cloudy deep tea amber pour. Wispy head. Chewy, hoppy nose. Walnut and toffee. Taste is nutty, very oily. Palate quite aggressively bitter and nutty. Don’t get the ’orange whip’ aspect. Not as soft as the Two Hemispheres. Reminds me more of SN Celebration. Fiancé said she got some orange creamsickle out of it.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy reddish amber color with a large offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of strong citrus hops, caramel and toasted malts. The taste is big citrus hops including orange, pineapple, grapefruit and candied citrus, as well as caramel malts. Medium bodied. Strong lingering bitterness.

On tap at the brewpub on 11.13.2010. A bit disappointed that I missed the cask version, but NotF was worth it. Served in a pint glass. Pours a very hazy dark amber-honey color. Definitely unfiltered. There is a single finger of off-white head with minimal lacing to begin. Served a bit cold and as I let it warm and gave it a few good swirls, the head came back up and started leaving some really nice lacing. The nose is orange rind with some slight earthy hips. A bit of bitter orange peel and some light orange marmalade. There is a bit of slightly-sweet pink grapefruit. Notes of orange creamsicle as well. The taste is really nice and orange from the start with a dry finish. Smooth midpalate on medium body. It’s slightly creamy and exhibits some slight earthy notes. As it warms even more there is a good dosing of light pine needle. This is really tasty and hop-forward. I’d say that this is the best I’ve seen from Bill and the folks at Mad Fox so far. Hope these big hop bombs keep on coming. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 11-14-2010

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2011 Growler pour. Looks horrendous, like iced tea. Zero head, muddy looking body. Big citrus nose, oranges, tropical fruits, lime zest. Flavor is kinda blah, some orange zest, lemon juice, dough, tropical fruits, pineapple. The malt backbone is missing. Tastes like fruity iced tea.7-2-5-2-10******************Re-rate from a 4oz pour at the Lupulin Reunuless at RFD DC. Pours a hazy copper amber with a creamy white head. Nice, hoppy aroma, C hops, orange zest, pine, light malt, lightly metallic. A little maple in the flavor, zesty hops, sweet caramel, oranges, grapefruit, pine. Finish is a little creamy, zesty and refreshing. 7-4-8-4-14

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2012 On tap at the brewpub. Poured an amber color with a medium-small white head. Aroma was heavy on the orange, sweet notes, touch of bitter citrus. Flavor was orange, creamy notes of oranges, floral notes of the bitter hops helped seal the deal on this one.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 6/10/11

Aroma: The nose more fruity then taste, some citrus and tropical fruits
Appearance: It pours a dark reddish color with a decent sized off-white head
Flavor: The taste is rather hoppy, not a ton of balance, but some light maltiness
Palate: This one has a medium (plus) body with a finish that is rather dry
Overall Impression: There is not a ton of balance to this one, but it was a rather solid IPA. This was some solid stuff. I enjoyed this one, a good offering from Mad Fox.
