Draft at the brewery. Deep reddish brown, light head. Aroma of malt and dried fruit. Taste is malt and caramel, with a slight alcohol aftertaste. Quite good.

On draft at the brewery. Pours a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Raisiny aroma. Blast of lacquer soy sauce and alcohol but nicely balanced.

Cask at Mad Fox. Pours clear, deep ruby. Small tan foam. Nose is heavier cherry Twizzlers and milk chocolate. Taste is quite sweet to the point of cloying, lots of overly sweetened herbal tea. Palate is much too sticky and dense. Not my style. Ick.

Aroma: Bready malt, boozy.
Taste:Light hop, dominant malts.
Palate:LIght medium body.
Summary: A little too boozy for my like.

I didn’t like this one too much, way too boozy in the nose and palate. Pours a cloudy brown then you just smell booze all over this malt bomb. Not for me

Draft. Pours deep, clear brown with creamy beige head; good retention and spare lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, yeast, dark fruit, and light oak. Flavor is sweet malt heavy; caramel, brown sugar, and dark fruit. Medium body, light carbonation, and medium warmth.

Draft. Pours deep amber with an off white head. Peaty-ish malty aroma with some light sweetness. The flavor is a bit sweeter than average for a scotch ale, with toffee, some fruity notes, and light toasty and smokey notes. Not bad.

Cask at GBBF 2011. Dark reddish brown color. Sweet aroma and flavor with toffee and raisins. Smooth and very malty taste. Good dessert beer with nice raisiny character.

On tap. Pours with a tan head over a clear brown hued body. Aromas are decently estery, plums, currants, figs with a strong caramel and brown sugar maltiness. Light melanoidins. Flavors are sweet, too sweet to be honest. Estery, caramel. Feels a bit out of balance. Thick mouthfeel with medium carbonation.

Cask at the GBBF 2011. Dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of dried fruits with a spicy touch and yeasty phenols. Sweet fruity and roasty flavour with strong phenolic notes
