2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Drank on tap at the 20th Mondial de la Bière, May 30, 2013. Honey amber, medium head. Aroma hops a little sweet, a little fruity cereal. Taste of green and dry hops, not very tasty, not bad bitterness. This is a typical beer commercial or false micro beer!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma dominated by hops - mostly grass aromas with a touch of light pine/spruce. Malts are pretty subdued, with just a bit of bread/grain flavors.
Appearance is an attractive amber with a slight cloudiness.
Alcohol is average; body is medium; carbonation is just slightly lively; finish is medium to long, dominated by the hops. Not much sweetness. A touch acidic in flavor.
Overall a fairly decent IPL, though a bit on the simple, one-dimensional side.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at VCBW Festival, pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Nose and flavour of skunky herbal notes and a prominent astringency. Not very pleasant at all. Not too good.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
750ml bottle from Pasquier, thanks to my wife. Aroma: caramel, grapes, cereals. App: hazy copper, minimal off white head, shy lacing. Taste and palate: light body, light sweetness, light acidity, light bitter finish. Overall: pretty bland. Palate is not so good, not well balanced. Didn’t enjoy it at all. Dp

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
341 ml bottle. (5.3% ABV) Pours a hazy dark amber-orange with a large, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Mild caramel malt aroma with grain and wood. Sweet flavour of grapefruit, caramel malt, pine and grass with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Meh.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
600 ml bottle. Pretty amber pour with persistent lacy white head. Aroma is caramelly, very malty, bready, english style, leafy hop very light piney notes, woody. Taste is woody, caramel, light earthiness, mild bitter finish. Palate is med bodied with good carbonation. I bought this expecting an IPL, I got an english india pale lager. Definitely weird and not astonishing but easy drinking nonetheless.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
16 ounce can pours a Amber orange color with off-white head that dissipates quickly. Floral hop aroma very subdued. Light in body high in carbonation. Some hop bitterness not a whole lot of hop flavor though a bit of orange taste?

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours hazy pale amber-orange with one finger of medium dense light beige head diminishing gradually to a thin cap, moderate spotty lacing. (3/5) Nose is grassy, pithy citrus, caramel malt. (6/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (6/10) Light to medium body, moderate sustained carbonation, lingering bitter finish. (4/5)
Not a bad IPL, but as usual I find myself wondering about the point: the hoppiness isn’t bad, and I like the unfiltered aspect of it, but every second sip smells like an adjunct lager. It’s so hard to make a lager that isn’t reminiscent of cheap crap, I keep wondering, why bother? (12/20)
