2.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours dark brown with red hues in the murky ale. Some surface tan foam. Nose has some spicy hops and plenty of malt character which is a tad sharp. Some hints of spiced pear and brown sugars. Sweet flavor with obvious alcohol and little hop presence IMO. There a bit of an acetone character - not impressed with the flavor here. Medium bodied with moderate carb and a wet, chemical finish. I’m not going to purchasing another one of these.

Aroma is pine, mild/medium sweetness and a slight mustiness. The flavor is grapefruit, strong tropical fruit notes, spices/almost vegetable-like and hop resin-bitter and tangy in the finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours an amber red with a beige head and aroma of malt, hops, caramel and fruits. Taste is similar, sweet with lots of rich flavor - fruits, hops, malt, caramel, and toffee leading to a bitter finish with alcohol coming through. Nice brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at pony with Andrew. Deep clear amber body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is chock full of caramel and syrupy resin. Mouthfeel is medium with maple syrup dominating. Backing notes of clean caramel malts and resiny hop. Overall, too syrupy in my opinion.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pine Box Rock Shop, Brooklyn tap ($7): Pours dark red, almost brown with a tan head. Aroma is piny, citrus, and resin hops, with a hefty malt backbone and touches of a chocolate and dirt. Taste is bitter and sweet in probably equal doses. The hop bitterness lingers and stings in the mouth. This beer is wicked astringent. This was a bit much for a finisher beer for me. Probably would have been a better Tuesday night beer.
