3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy deep copper and bronze coloured body with a thinnish, one centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, sweetness, apricots, pungent tropical and floral hops and a mellow yeast note at the end. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong biting alcohol and earthy malt flavour up front that gives way to a smooth yeast flavour and a very nice hop kick from herbal and citrusey hops. Aftertaste shows a nice blend of malt/wheat and hops with a tropical sweetness and a bit of a herbal and dry oaky kick at the end from yeast. Overall, a nice and rather complex wheat-based IPA with not too many traditional wheat flavours going through, but light and airy, for sure. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Zupan’s in Portland, Oregon (Belmont St Location) on 07-December-2013 for US$2.99 sampled at home in Washington on the opposite end of this country on 01-April-2014.

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz. bottle from Total Wine. Not much more than a heavy barleywine-like sweetness in the aroma. Beautiful crystal clear golden yellow wit a soapy white head. The prickly alcohol heat seems to jump out right from the get go and seems much higher than 8%. A nice honeyed sweetness tries to subdue that heat with some success. Then a truly bitter green dankness sets in and overtakes them both with subtle, spicy herbaceousness and citrus pith and rind. That bitterness really sticks around along with a little residual sweetness for a nice, long boozy afterglow. The body is surprisingly light for all that’s packed in here (maybe due to the wheat?) and makes what could be a heavy, bloat-inducing beer quite easy to drink.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Meh. Average at best. Aroma was decent. Slightly hoppy with pine and soapy aromas. Pour was a nice burnt hazy orange with a one finger white head. Taste was a malt bomb. Not sure if this was an old bottle but the main flavors were caramel and sweet toffee. There was some soapiness and a slight metallic flavor in there as well. Decent carbonation. This beer gets lost in the sea of malty IPAs.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazyt, orange-amber with a short yellow-tan head.
Brightly tropical scent....orange, pineapple, banana.....
Fruitcake, orange, biscuit taste...caramel, brown sugar.
Sweet, fruity with a floral/tropical bitter...
Complex tastes and aromas......a lot of little, different nuances here and there.
Pretty darn good.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Bailey’s, pours a clear golden with a medium off-white head. Aroma give me off loads of wheat, followed by some subdued piney hops and biscuity malt. Flavour is extremely wheaty and hoppy, bringing out the best of both worlds - with dry wheat, piney hops and some metallic notes. Not the smoothest or well-balanced IPA by any means, but decent enough and drinkable.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Des épices arrivent à me confondre. Sur le palais, un corps honnête et des bulles piquantes. Une texture finement huileuse. Une finale très puissante, florale et presque éthylique. Un gros bof.

12 oz bottle from "lifesource" Salem OR
Hazy light amber ale with a large off white head..fades to luscious lace soon after pour.
Very wheaty aroma, covering some nice floral hops.
Taste is all rather balanced this a wheat ale on steroids balancing the hoppyness ..caramel /coffee on the finish.
Palate is fine..no alcohol detected.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Deep golden in color, large foamy white head, frothy, nice lacing, light carbonation.   Muted hop nose, a little dank, pale wheatiness.   A bit brighter on the tongue.   Hoppy but not bitter, pale wheatiness.   Seems more of a wheat than IPA on the nose, but the other way around on the tongue.   Moderately sweet, citrus peel, a touch of sweet pine linger.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft bitterness lingers.   Simple, clean, light example despite the nearly 8% ABV.   While not a hop bomb, or overly bright with bitterness, its very respectable.
