Slightly hazy, dark amber golden with a decent, creamy, beige head leaving some lacework. Sweetish aroma of burned caramel. Medium body again with sweet flavours of burned caramel and a touch of overripe fruit. Short, dry finish. 270907 Grovlam (3881), Copenhagen, Denmark

Cloudy brown color. Spare lacework. Aroma of light grapefruit and floral notes, some fruit and apricot, burned malt, light liquorish, caramelized and nutty as well. Medium bodied with a light dry texture and an average carbonation. Moderated bitter flavor with counter malty sweet notes. Dry and hoppy floral bitter finish that lingers. Quit nice beer! | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 25, 2007 Bottle. Sweet malty aroma with caramel and a bit of condensed hop funk. Dark brown-amber body with a lacing, creamy beige head. Lightly bitter and fruity, crisp attack and a lightish-medium body. Taste concentrating on the caramel and hop bitterness with a touch of floating fruit. Faint dark chocolate and spice. Earthy toffee. Weizen-ish banana in the bg. Needed to warm a bit. Hard to form an opinion here; is this simplistic and straightforward or a mash-up of incompatible flavors? Whatever the side, I find this difficult to kill, it’s tasty enough. Flavor is full bodied, some nuttiness, a bit of caramel, just a touch of homebrew funkiness, finishes with a citrusy bent.Crisp mouthfeel, decently thick. Overall, not bad. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Smell was a nicely rich smelling and balanced hop and malt mix. Taste was full flavored, with a thick-ish mouthfeel especially for an amber. Nicely carbonated and nice darkish almost chocolately flavors, with a good hoppiness. Mildy bitter finish with some unique richness and qualities for the style. I very much enjoyed this beer. badlizard (2417), Berkeley, California, USA

The aroma has lots of butteriness, paper and hints of grapefruit. Medium body with frothy carbonation. The taste starts with muddled sour caramel malt and lemony citrus. The finish is sour and unpleasant. I will re-rerate this if I can get a known fresh bottle. Holy crap, I got a fresh bottle and it almost meshes with the notes for the bottle I got that I thought was old. This is a disaster and I will not get it again. bitbucket (2036), Kirkland, Washington, USA
