This beer was originally brewed for a famous Reggae festival that happens each year here in Humboldt County. A malty bitter American Amber style ale. This mahogany hued ale brings an intense spectrum of hop flavors from the spicy aromatic to lingering bitter, all underscored by a full- bodied caramel richness. Try this brew with a little Jamaican Jerked Chicken.

Tried this at the Mad River promo night at Yeasty Beasty. I usually like to get a different beer every time, but I think I ordered this one on three consecutive visits! It is great! Beautiful red color, full-bodied, lots of malt flavor! The hops are perfectly balanced against the malt and the smooth, caramel finish.

Draft at Burger Tavern 77 in Columbia, SC The Red Ale pours a clear red with a small white head. There is a malty aroma with some hints of hops or citrus. Also a hint of apples was detected. This is a nice red ale with body and average carbonation. The finish had caramel malts on the tongue and with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottled. Poured medium orange with a creamy beige head. The aroma picked up sweet, toasted caramel and nutty notes with accents of pine resin, citrus, and peppery spices.. warm and malty. The flavor found nutty notes, caramel, and a hit of licorice at the core, with bitter spices, pine, and herbal notes around.. finished bitter and a bit sharp. Medium-bodied with smooth, rolling carbonation across the middle.. good feel except for the finish.. this was aiight.

From tap. Pours a deep red with lingering head. Aroma was very malty with a earthy tone. Taste followed with a crisp clean bitter end.

Out of the bottle from Uptown. Pours a dark red with a tan head. Smells exremely malty with a malty and bitter aftertaste.

Very malty nose, and a bit grassy. Handsome hazy dark orange pour with thick retention. Mouthfeel is full, creamy, malty, I get a bit of a homebrew feel to this, and I don’t know what that means? Is it that it is a bit yeasty? I think so. Good!

Really good malt. Tasty and looks good. Leaves a bit of burnt aftertaste / something is off with the palate. Clean yeast flavors. Well done but flawed.

On tap, from the Yard House in Temecula, CA. Tastes just like Killians Irish Red, only a little more sour aftertaste. Slightly metallic taste. No head. Hazelnut aroma.

Tap @ PD. Hazy amber pour with a persistent white head leaving moderate lace. Nose is nutty and malty, with a hint of pine hops. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Singed caramel, brazil nuts, toast and grapefruit. Finish is long, grapefruit and pine bitter, with a touch of caramel sweetness. Very enjoyable amber and a typically solid MR ale.
