Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a reddish tinge and a smallish white head. Nose is extremely malt forward with some caramel and cereal notes in there. Taste is a little sweet with just a hint of toasting on the back end. Interesting.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 chinchill (586) - South Carolina, USA - MAY 17, 2013
12 oz bottle served in pint glass (from 2011 notes).
Pours a slightly hazy reddish-copper with a modest tan head. Small amount of sediment at bottom of bottle (added).
Subtle aroma of sweet malt and slight hops. Medium body and carbonation; smooth yet fairly crisp.
Rich, complex, and well-balanced flavor. A serious taste battle between sweet and bitter components. Hops are more evident during tasting than smelling. "Crafted with whole hop goodness" indeed.

4.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 eljefebrewing (2) - - APR 27, 2013 does not count
Tried this at the Mad River promo night at Yeasty Beasty. I usually like to get a different beer every time, but I think I ordered this one on three consecutive visits! It is great! Beautiful red color, full-bodied, lots of malt flavor! The hops are perfectly balanced against the malt and the smooth, caramel finish.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Foxbush (991) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 7, 2013
Draft at Burger Tavern 77 in Columbia, SC The Red Ale pours a clear red with a small white head. There is a malty aroma with some hints of hops or citrus. Also a hint of apples was detected. This is a nice red ale with body and average carbonation. The finish had caramel malts on the tongue and with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottled. Poured medium orange with a creamy beige head. The aroma picked up sweet, toasted caramel and nutty notes with accents of pine resin, citrus, and peppery spices.. warm and malty. The flavor found nutty notes, caramel, and a hit of licorice at the core, with bitter spices, pine, and herbal notes around.. finished bitter and a bit sharp. Medium-bodied with smooth, rolling carbonation across the middle.. good feel except for the finish.. this was aiight.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jb (1811) - Rochester, New York, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Very malty nose, and a bit grassy. Handsome hazy dark orange pour with thick retention. Mouthfeel is full, creamy, malty, I get a bit of a homebrew feel to this, and I don’t know what that means? Is it that it is a bit yeasty? I think so. Good!
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Nik925 (694) - California, USA - JAN 25, 2013
Really good malt. Tasty and looks good. Leaves a bit of burnt aftertaste / something is off with the palate. Clean yeast flavors. Well done but flawed.
