This beer was originally brewed for a famous Reggae festival that happens each year here in Humboldt County. A malty bitter American Amber style ale. This mahogany hued ale brings an intense spectrum of hop flavors from the spicy aromatic to lingering bitter, all underscored by a full- bodied caramel richness. Try this brew with a little Jamaican Jerked Chicken.

Billowing sandy head atop a dark red and brown body. Skunky, grassy malt aroma, quite starchy. Metallic and blood-like aroma as well... the taste is a little fishy with some maple malt and plum flavors... hoppy but without any sweetness. Graham crackers and wood are very pronounced.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bottle. Very dark amber pour with a nice fluffy mostly white head that dissipates into a thin white ring. Aroma is caramel, nuts, and a touch of Christmas bread. It’s a little spicy on the nose - nice. Body is carbonated yet creamy. Taste - whoa, here come the hops! Pine and citrus hops up front, caramel malt right behind it, and the spice character persists. This is an excellent amber.

On tap at the Yardhouse in Rancho Mirage California. Rich copper red-- striking! Fresh fruity hoppy caramel aroma. Definitely the freshest of the taps I tried. Very nice rich toffee and pomegranate fruit with a mild hop finish. Excellent.

Bottle from Taniguchi. Nice chewy malt nose, caramel fudge and grassy hops. Pretty amber-brown with a tight, fine head. Nice rich caramel malts, light chocolate fudge, plus good American hops, more grassy and piney than citrus, though. Solid Amber.

On tap at Blue Palms. Pours with a clear deep amber body with a large and lasting off-white head. Aromas are hoppy and fruity with citrus, tangerines, ruby-red grapefruit and sweet caramel. Flavors are a bit soapy, fruit tea, strawberry and caramel. Creamy carbonation. Surprisingly tasty.

"a nice clean amber. nothing that will blow you away, but pleasant enough for a try, especially in the summer. a little on the malty side going in, with a ever so slightly hoppier finish. tends to be maltier..."

12oz bottle pours murky copper with tan head. The aroma is crystal malts, faint caramel, molasses, toffee and faint dark fruity esters mixing with a hint of pine hops. This has a tasty malt flavor with roasted to highly roasted malts, crystal malts and to a lesser extent sweet molasses followed up by mild vague hop bitterness.

Bottle for 1 buck from Guntown chugged before the wedding rehearsal in the parking lot. A clear amber color. Smooth with nice caramel and hop bitterness. Quite big for an amber. Good.
