This is the second offering in our JAMAICA line of ales. We didn’t want to make another IPA like everybody else so we opted for our own style. Unfortunately the gang at the BATF wouldn’t let us use "West Indies" on the label stating that there is no such place. We all thought that Columbus was looking for the West Indies and ended up here by mistake. Oh well. We call this beer Jamaica Sunset because of its golden reddish hue. We use five different hops for aroma, bitterness and floral character. You get a crisp clean flavor and complex hop finish.

a very complex aroma. peppery flavours for me. subtle bit of honey sweetness then the bitterness on the back end is just right. a very enjoyable brew

Pours nice darker shade of orange, white head. Aroma is mainly fresh, a bit of fruitiness that is subdued by hop grassines. Taste is quite straightforward IPA, not too many layers, just bitterness, resins, clean and dry. More fruitiness than average I guess. Simple and works.

BOTTLE. Pours a slightly hazy gold with fluffy white head, solid lacing. Nose is a sweet biscuit & caramel malt. Biscuit, caramel malts are upfront leading to a slight hoppy back end with a good resin lingering after the mouthful. Sourced Cape Cellars

Pours a cloudy orange-amber with a creamy white head. Aroma of resiny hop (pine & citrus), fruity with some caramel malt. Tastes of citrus hops backed by sweet malt, pepper and a decent bitter finish. Medium body.

12oz bottle. One the original Red IPAs for sure. Unfiltered orange-red body. Thin, foamy, off-white head. Kind of old school thick, ringwood feeling tastes. Thick caramel, amber malts The hops attempt to balance it out, with some classic NW piny, resinous feels. Not really that good for 2015.

Deffo a bit diffo from the 'regular' IPA's. Not AS hoppy on the nose and nicely balanced given the 7% ABV. I think I'm going to decide to like this one. Yeah Mon...

A surprisingly sweet aroma proves that this is indeed a little different from your average west coast IPA. The hop-led assault on tasting is great because of the sheer number of hops used. A really nice IPA.

Reddish amber in tulip glass (in the dimly-lit Botella Republic in Berkeley). Probably not as red as it looks under the filament bulbs. Floral sweetness on the nose. Taste has a malty backbone, reminds me of a red ale or an amber. It’s okay, but not great.

Very strong hop-aroma, dark brown color, thin composition with a bitter hop finish. More on the bitter side of IPAs and it gets more bitter with each sip. very bitter, thin feel, soft carbonation, clear,
