2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Slipstream (1555) - USA - JUN 1, 2012
Sweet, floral, herbal aroma, and a rust-colored pour. I wasn’t sure why the label said Jamaica Brand as well as Mad River until I read the RB description. Are they trying to get a little too cute? Sunset tastes dry, acidic, and a little vegetal and metallic. Not bad, but not the best.

Bottle via StateLine: Poured aggresive into a snifter.. . nice head, that faded quickly. Good lacing left on the glass. Nose is grapefruit and citrus hops.... Taste is nice a subtle... grapefruit, malty, well balanced with out being over hoppy... but I wish it was more hop aggresive. Medium body easy to drink... Just an ok IPA, probably good on a hot day in Jamaica
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BeerKurve (76) - - MAR 21, 2012
Dark Orange with a very cloudy appearance. For an IPA, it’s surprisingly sweet with it’s VERY sweet caramel, yeasty and malty flavors while the floral hops take a backseat. On top of that, there virtually no carbonation which allows you to savor the flavors without the carbonation bothering you. It maybe alot sweeter than it’s counterparts, but it is still an exceptional IPA that I think would be a good starter beer to those new to IPAs.
