ucusty (1062), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 31, 2008 Pours a thick brown color with minimal head and no lacing. Smell is of a typical Barleywine with a bit more alcohol than normal, but nice none the less. Taste is, well, rich and rather complex, but nothing great. Definate malt presence as well as darker fruits. A little too hot HughConway (259), USA Aug 20, 2008 12oz bottle of 2007 from Bottleworks NW. Pours amber with slight white head. Slight hop aroma. Body is rather thick on the tongue, laced with alcohol, not as sweet or hoppy as other barleywines. Like the not sweet part. Finish is smooth. Blaketj80 (8), Oklahoma, USA does not count Aug 13, 2008 ’07 pours with thin white head. Hops and malt both come through in the nose. At room temp, it’s easy to drink with malt coming through and it finishes with a slight taste of espresso. rustychiles (435), Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 11, 2008 Bottle from the Freakin Frog in Las Vegas Nevada. Pours a hazy brown color with a nice white head. Aroma of hops, caramel, malt. Flavor is caramel, malt, fruits, hops.....slightly earthy and very easy drinking. jake65 (1246), Meridian, Idaho, USA Aug 9, 2008 Bottle ’07: Pours a light amber color with a medium, dense sandy colored head. Thick lacing. Aroma is strong; citrus and malty sweet notes. A little candied fruit. Tastes strong of maltiness, lightly bready, and lighter in the citrus/fruity area. Has a bit of a wheaty feel too. Some caramel. Nice and warming.
