3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 50belair (1328) - Florida, USA - SEP 2, 2012
Clear amber pour. Caramel malt aromas. Fruity/florally hop notes with an undersized malt backbone. Piney undercurrents. Not very well balanced...

I thought this beer was great. The malt flavor is so smooth and tasty with a slight bitter hop flavor. This IPA is strong in alc and strong in flavor. Could easily drink many in one sitting and not be able to get up.

Looks great. Orangish amber color. Very thin and ephemeral on the palate. Overall it's an okay beer. Citrusy in both smell and taste.

Bottle at home - 08/06/12.
Amber in colour with a decent off-white head.
Caramel malt base with citrus hops and pine bobbing along on top.
Hops, grapefruit, mango, slightly floral flavour.
Higher end of medium in body with a little booze in the sweetish crisp finish. Ok - no world beater!

Bottle in Indianapolis. By double ipa standards, pretty mild and underwhelming. Easy to drink but not overly complex

Virginia Trip – bottle 355 ml
Aroma bold blend of citrus, caramel and alcohol. Softer backing hinted with grape skin malts and semi smooth alcohol. 7-
Appearance hazed amber with medium plus top. 3+
Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied. caramel, sweet sugars dry bitterness with alcohol at finish. Fairly drinkable for stronger bitter ale yet it was not exceptionally good.

Copper body with a finger of white head. Fruity nose with grapefruit and apricots. This enters with tart citrus, but transitions quickly to bitter, drying hops. Fresh mouthfeel.

Bottle... Solid IIPA. Not quite the huge hop bite as others, but very well balanced and enjoyable. Smooth, malty, bread in a nice citrusy way, but not the overwhelming citrus you get from alternates. Very solid.

The aroma has floral hops and some wheaty malt. The taste is moderately bitter, not too much. The palate is slightly harsh, but well bodied. It’s a quite good beer, definitely if you are in the mood for an ipa.
5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 Hussey (60) - North Carolina, USA - JUL 17, 2012
Bottles at Bestway. Hazy orange/amber pour. Copper hues. Thin short lived head. Good lacing on my traditional Bell’s tasting tulip. Wonderful citrus/piney zing to the nose. It tastes even better than it smells and looks. Caramel/chewy mouth feel. Thick malt body. The hoppy bitterness appears late in the tasting. Beautiful beer. A totally underrated brew and company. Also, a bargain: 6 pack @ $9.99 ( Bestway).
This beer is the reason I started brewing my own. I wanted to clone this bastard.
