Delerious combined aroma of citrus and pine. Deep amber color with frothy tannish head. Starts with pine and moves to grapefruit, followed by belgian candy sweetness (have to get that alcohol from somewhere). The Belgians are trying out double IPAs, and I could have thought this was one. The lingering finish is complex, but the hops are definitely there.

Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured hazy copper color with a moderate white frothy head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer.

A lightly hazed amber DIPA with a thick creamy lacing off white head. In aroma, nice caramel malt with smooth floral c-hops, resinous. In mouth, a smooth californian DIPA with citrusy floral hops, grapefruits, biscuitty malt, a classic, not over the top. On tap at New World Brewery, Jan. 8 2011.

12-oz bottle received via trade with mgumby10. Pours hazy harvest orange with a small, frothy, white head, somewhat lasting with spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, cookie, lightly toasted grain), heavy hops (pine, flowers, grass, citrus), average yeast (dough, sweat) with notes of apple, pear, and butter. Medium bodied, slick texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness.

Bottle @ home. Pours a red ruby red-orange appearance with a smaller cream colored head that dissipates pretty quickly. Nose has citrusy hops and fairly strong pale/amber malts. Big pale malty flavor creates a big sweetness. The strong citrus hoppiness offsets that sweetness somewhat. Strong flavor with some burn on the finish. Not bad but not one of the better DIPAs.

Bottle... Murky orange ale with thousands of white floaties tooling around the inside of the glass. Small, creamy, off-white head that is decently retained. Fruity, malty aroma delivers big notes of citrus, fuzzy and tropical fruits caramel, toffee and praline. Full-bodied and chewy with moderate carbonation. Robust caramel sweetness balanced nicely by a ballsy bitterness. Alcohol is detectable, but not overbearing. Caramelly, bittersweet finish. Kudos to scraff for shipping this bottle down from Baltimore!

Bottle from total wine. Amber and cloudy...nice head. Aroma is nice with a good dose of floral hops, sweet malt and some citrus notes. Flavor is not half bad at all. Very fruity and then finish has a perfect hop bite. Not overly bitter, but the hops speak through the malt very well. Good beer for the price.
