Commercial Description:
A black opaque ale with rich creamy roasted malt character and a very mild hop complement. This beer may look a little scary but take a sip and you'll see why this Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers. A unique flavor profile that starts with a slight coffee flavor and finishes with a hint of roasty chocolate. Try a pint with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. This beer is a favorite as a compliment to any dessert or as a hearty breakfast drink.

from my wife for my birthday, she got this one from beer on the wall. pours a thick black with a thin dark brown head. smell of dark cocoa, hint of coffee, roasted caramel, hint of vanilla. taste is dark and milk chocolate, roasted coffee, some nuts, some vanilla, ends with a little bitter kick.

Pours black with a brown head about 2 fingers thick. Aroma of burnt malts and chocolate. Smoky burnt malt flavors dominate with a bitter finish. Full bodied with low carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Decent stout.

PITCH black and thick with a shortlasting chocolate brown head. somewhat smooth molasses and cognac brew that is full of dates and perhaps raisins. there is a lesser roasted malt character that is lingering. perhaps a touch of charcoal enhanced by a characteristic type carbonation. brandy in the nose. seemed to have been more amped up in the alcohol (as is posted.) i do not find this to be a particularly outstanding brew for ordinary circumstances, though when called for this stout would be a real pleaser. i find quite low chocolate and similar in the sweetness.

12oz bottle. Pours pitch black with no head at all. Aroma roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste is the same as the aroma with lite bitter finish.

12 oz bottle. Black with a tiny brown head - damn near a still beer. Sweet roasty malt and coffee nose, a wisp of smoke, some mild fruitiness. Flavor is way more smoky than anticipated, lightly bitter coffee and chocolate fudge. Very drinkable for a big, flavorful stout. Chocolatey and charcoal finish. Body is the full side of medium. Delightful!

This is an excellent stout, It pours well and has that coffee aroma. it has the substance that good stout needs and does not have any of the acid that some are afflicted with. I recomend

very dark, with a nice cherry chocolate looking head, although it is small. looks very tasty. the head sadly dissolved quickly. very strong coffee/ rich chocolate aroma. smells delightful. creamy at the start, smooth going down. coffee/chocolate taste, with an after taste of roasted coffee....and chocolate, the more i drink. might have one for breakfast tomorrow...hahaha.
