BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA May 7, 2007 12oz Bottle Pours out a nive black topped with a tan head. Great aroma of sweet chocolate and nice roast. Sweet tast, but not as thick as I wanted it to be. Not to bad. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA May 2, 2007 Pours deep dark amber-mahogany with a couple of photons of light making the journey at the edges creating a deep red glow. The tan head dissipated quickly. The aroma comes off as rich roasted malts, malt sweetness and what seems like a hint of smoke. The taste starts out with roasted, burnt and chocolate malts. There’s also a malt sweetness that approaches a caramel character. Near the finish a faint coffee note surfaces and then gets over-run by more burnt malts. Tasty brew. toncatcher (228), Santee - SAN DIEGO, California, USA Apr 24, 2007 Great dark beer that stated with roasted malts and finished with chocolate. padrefan98 (787), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Apr 18, 2007 12 oz bottle thanks to fordest. Very small tan head. Very dark. Smells of roasted chocolate and coffee. Very little afterburn. But very good. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Apr 15, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Very dark black oily appearance. Smallish dark tan head. Lots of roasty aromas. Some chocolate and coffee flavors, but mostly more roasted malts. Pretty good stout. GriffinAvenue (395), Winchester, Massachusetts, USA Mar 30, 2007 Bottle. Pitch black color. Coffee, roasted nut aroma; somewhat wooden, fire-worn finish. Hints of fruit in flavor. OK - expecting worse for some reason. TampaBeer (181), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 30, 2007 heavy coffee aroma, and coffee flavor. Just a little bit thin for my stout preference. Nice. Doctormirk (100), USA Mar 29, 2007 The only color that describes this beer is black. Nice dark head as well. Beer was sweet and very chocolaty. Lasting espresso finish. Nice brew!
