| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2007 Pours deep dark amber-mahogany with a couple of photons of light making the journey at the edges creating a deep red glow. The tan head dissipated quickly. The aroma comes off as rich roasted malts, malt sweetness and what seems like a hint of smoke. The taste starts out with roasted, burnt and chocolate malts. There’s also a malt sweetness that approaches a caramel character. Near the finish a faint coffee note surfaces and then gets over-run by more burnt malts. Tasty brew. toncatcher (228), Santee - SAN DIEGO, California, USA
