Commercial Description:
A black opaque ale with rich creamy roasted malt character and a very mild hop complement. This beer may look a little scary but take a sip and you'll see why this Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers. A unique flavor profile that starts with a slight coffee flavor and finishes with a hint of roasty chocolate. Try a pint with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. This beer is a favorite as a compliment to any dessert or as a hearty breakfast drink.

Looks very nice in the pour. Rich thick black, with a quickly diminishing light brown head. Pretty nice combo of coffe, and light chocolate notes. Its got a fresh coffe grain taste, but definitely a lighter stout. Nice choclate characters, subtle but nice. Finish is pretty smooth, the coffe is not overpowering which was nice. After trying three brews from this brewery i have come to the conclusion that they are session beers. Nothing massive about them at all.

A lot of roasted coffee and chocolate in the aroma, rasted barley, burnt. Pours black with a tan head. Smooth vanilla, chocolate, coffee, alittle hop bitterness but mostly sweet malts and burnt coffee. Pretty good.

A fine brew. Wasn’t expecting much here. Typical stout color. Small tan head. Left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of carmel, vanilla and malts. Flavor is more carmel and some dark chocolate and coffee. Thin mouthfeel, making this a very drinkable stout. Goes down quick. Thank you sir. May I have another?

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry and Blankboy, Blankboy’s bottle. Tar black, hints of brown, no head. Black forest cake aroma - rich and lovely. Rich, silk taste, but also thin and a little sour. Ok, started off great and sort of faded.

Thin Brownish head, Dark brownish/black. Caramel, roast, and chocolate in Aroma. Nice roasty coffee/chocolate notes in flavor. Fades to nice coffee finish. Pretty nicely balanced and not over thick on palate. Very enjoyable, not my favorite stout but is still pretty good.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- my bottle courtesy of ross. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small light-brown head. Aroma: Whoa, that’s nice! Lots of dark fruit with sweet caramel malt, a little roastness and some chocolate and coffee. Flavour’s not as impressive but still very good: coffee and chocolate, roasted malt, a little nutty and a light bitter finish. Medium bodied. Easy to drink and enjoyable, I liked it.

Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy and tupalev, blankboy’s bottle. Thickly oily near black pour with a small creamy fairly dark brown small head. Rich thick nut-oil roast malt aroma - yeasty, sweet and nutty - someone was heard to say "black forest cake" - yes, hints of kirsch, ultimately dry. Taste - just average, really - slightly sour and thin, roast coffee/chocolate, thin hops, sour finish. Only average body, acidic and thin mouthfeel, weak finish. Smells awesome.

A nice dry and roasty stout that satisfies me on this coolish winter night. This stout typifies a dry mid-bodied stout. The finish is long and full of coffee and milk chocolate.
