4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very legit stout. Chocolate flavor. As many as have been had tonight, this one sticks out as its own individual flavor. Really good

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 7, 2012 Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Opaque black in color with a creamy head. Aroma of sweet chocolate. Taste is even more sweet. In fact, this beer is sweet throughout. Creamy and smooth. Slightly carbonated. Great for dessert.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle from FLBC. Pours engine-oil black, no head. Aroma is amazing: molasses, smoky chocolate, coffee. Flavor is much the same. Some carbonation on the back of the tongue. Aftertaste lingers. Minor hops. Iíve walked past this beer on the shelf for 5 years now; thanks to my iPhone and Ratebeer, I finally decided to try it-- glad i did! Fantastic little stout.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Soft roasty choc nose. A lot of tin too. Does a good approximation of an impy stout for 6.5%. Rich, creamy body, lots of toffee and chocolaye malt and a medium roast finish with some ash qualities. Pretty darn good.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a basically black color with a medium head and good lace.
The beer is particularly aromatic. Chocolatly with some mild ashiness and berries. The mild but troublesome character of cardboard is present in the aroma.
The flavor is very roasty to the point of being ashy. The beer is nicely bitter and has a lot of chocolate without sacrificing a good deal of dryness.
This is pretty nice beer but itís a touch short of greatness, I canít imagine that this isnít freshest as I bought this about the moment they started selling it on the Des Moines market, but I want to think that the beer would be significantly better at source.
