Commercial Description:
A black opaque ale with rich creamy roasted malt character and a very mild hop complement. This beer may look a little scary but take a sip and you'll see why this Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers. A unique flavor profile that starts with a slight coffee flavor and finishes with a hint of roasty chocolate. Try a pint with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. This beer is a favorite as a compliment to any dessert or as a hearty breakfast drink.

Out of a bottle, thanks OhioDad. A nice roast flavor aroma of coffee and chocolate. Poured a nice dark chocolate with a cocoa thin rich head. The taste was good and full, coffee and chocolate evenly sweet but not overly. Palate was enjoyable and creamy finish clean and dry. My first beer of the day and a good one at that, yummy!!

12oz bottle obtained in a trade with Sregnar35. Thanks Bill - Poured very black not much light makes it through with a nice brown head that dissipates quick. Aroma is of chocolate and cherries.. Quite a sweet smelling stout. Flavor is bitter baking chocolate and a touch of coffee. Nice dry finish with a sweet chocolate aftertaste. On the palate this is nice and creamy with full body and a dry finish. A good solid stout and a fine finish to a session.

May 24th re-rate.
It’s still tasty. A bit tastier than before in fact.
ooohhh this smells good. Cherry sweet aroma. Smelled like those choclate covered cherries. Poured gloppy and black with a fluffy and bubbly mocha head. Bitter coffer flavors. The taste isn’t nearly as complex as the smell. Still solid, but the smell gets you pumped up for something unique. Kinda crowded almost dirt-like flavor int he end taste. Not bad, but the smell, like a good movie than ends bad, hinted of things it didn’t deliver.

This is a really nice stout. Really stands out with multiple flavors once it gets to the right temp.

Nice dark tan head over an opaque body. The head left in a hurry. There were hints of coffee and chocolate. The lasting impression was the hops, not "rich creamy roasted malt." Not a bad stout but not a great one either.

Fruity, port-like aroma; substantial chocolate and roasty assertion; some cherry and metallic hints; sweet, roasted caramel flavor with a burnt date and raisin tinge; the bitterness comes from smooth, black roasted malts (that seem more like caraffe rather than black patent) and not hops; somewhat acidic; nice brew!

12oz bottle-pours pitch black with a nice brown head. slightly viscus/oily pour. Lots of burnt grain husks, chocolate, char and coca here in the aroma. flavors are not as strong as the flavor, mostly bringing out the coca and char notes. body is medium and somewhat fluffy. Some astringency in the finish where the flavors dont come together right and a touch of acidic notes do the flavor no favor. an average stout.
