turbo (1254), Arizona, USA Feb 25, 2005 Poured black with a awesome chocolate head and lacing.
Aroma of chocolate and roast.
Roasty, nutty flavor with a liquid smoke palate.
Not bad..not great , but not bad. Jonathan3584 (323), Washington, Washington DC, USA Feb 11, 2005 Thick opaque black pour with a dark tan head. Smells like coffee and roast. Thick mouthfeel. Very very roasted. Bitter coffee, roasty finish. ragesaq (53), Arizona, USA Jan 7, 2005 Appearance: black as night, light lacing, moderate dark tan head
Aroma: Coffee and chocolate, surprisingly strong for a plain looking stout
Flavor/Palate: Big malt, big coffee, big chocolate, with a tiny cherry vanilla hinting in the aftertaste. Very creamy slightly oily texture.
Overall: A very very fine stout in an unassuming looking bottle sold in 6packs for low prices. Consider me impressed. Highly reccomended DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 6, 2005 Deep obsidian pour with a big, dark tan head. Aroma of malt, big chocoff, jalapeno oil, molasses, and a green olive/pimento smell that I have never experienced before. Tastes malty, with more chocoff, molasses, and more green olive taste...unique. Firm, dense palate, and a slightly dry, cherry, vanilla, oak finish. A standout. Procure this now. radiomgb (1923), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jan 5, 2005 Dark brown in colour. Aroma was nutty, some chocolate, small roast. Flavour of roasted chocolate, somewhat sweet, nutty. Medium body and carbonation. Finishes roasty and chalky. Fairly good but standard stout. aobecksy (661), Middle of no where, Ohio, USA Jan 4, 2005 Nutty chocolate perfect for the Christmas season, indigestion aftertaste like when eating too many nuts at the ball game. Oily texture and little carbonation. tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Dec 17, 2004 Chocolate, nutty aroma with some underlying roasted malts. Opaque, dark brown with chocolate brown head that recedes to cover. Very sweet chocolatey flavour has a mild roasty character. that lasts especially in the aftertaste. Somewhat light and chalky in the mouth. Bottle sampled with Enkerli and others. chriso (4685), London, Greater London, England Dec 15, 2004 Black appearance. Oily consistency. Negligible head and minimal carbonation. Chocolate and licorice in the aroma. Same flavour, with some coffee and roast malt. Quite rich, but not the most full bodied stout. Rather nice though. Bottled at the Green Leafe Cafe, Williamsburg.
