COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A black opaque ale with rich creamy roasted malt character and a very mild hop complement. This beer may look a little scary but take a sip and you’ll see why this Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers. A unique flavor profile that starts with a slight coffee flavor and finishes with a hint of roasty chocolate. Try a pint with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. This beer is a favorite as a compliment to any dessert or as a hearty breakfast drink.

This is an excellent stout, It pours well and has that coffee aroma. it has the substance that good stout needs and does not have any of the acid that some are afflicted with. I recomend

Not a stout drinker, but this had a great array of flavours. Poured very dark with aromas of coffee and chocolate. Actual bitterness is not at all intimidating, and initial flavours include a softer fruit and spice behind the mocha. I’m not converted but it’s very drinkable.

Pitch black colored, opaque, small to non dark tan head, non lasting. Aroma is of dark chocolate and roasted malt, coffee. Taste is medium to light sweet malt, chocolate, bitter chocolate and roasted malt, dry bitter chocolate low+ bitter finish, lasting aftertaste. Medium bodied, soft to flat carbonation, creamy. Easy going and quite enjoyable. (bottle, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)

Nothing special. I'm new to the style so maybe try again once I get more stouts under my belt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Really nice stout. Chocolate bouquet before a murky black and tan pour. Lovely soft mouth feel and plenty of chocolate and vanilla. Hints of coddee and roast malts with a long creamy sweet finish

Bottle at home. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, mocha. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and over moderate roasty coffee bitter with a nicely dry finish. Body is medium to full, slightly creamy. Very tasty roasty coffee chocolate Stout.

Steelhead Extra Stout 6.5% Pouring an inky black with a ruddy tan head in my tumbler that vanished in a blink. The nose is big dark bitter chocolate, berries, savoury umami, roasty & approachable. The flavor is chocolate, cacao, 70% bitter chocolate, berry & roastiness. Nice.  ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very good and not so dry. But neither coffee alike nor sweet. It was a fine porter to enjoy there.

At cellar temperature and into a snifter. Cola brown and deepest ruby in the shallows with a shimmering radiance when held to the lights. Tight, tan fold holds but is short and manages only a thin lace. A lot of Vegemite and Marmite on the nose, very yeasty with a lot of umami playing into character as its enticingly sweet but doused in meaty notes. Light aniseed, but musters well and adds depth. Beautifully rich on the tongue. Well rounded, silky smooth and lengthy. So much chocolate in all its guises. Moderate, bitter sweet chocolate swallow is flawless and tannin free. Creamy, oh so moorish. Earthy, mocha with an ensuing nuttiness. This is just good drinking stout. Loved every sip! (12fl.Oz, no date stamp, Int’l Beer Shop, Leederville)

12 ounce bottle poired into a pint glass. The beer is a dark brown to black with a khaki head of foam. The aroma has strong anise character and dark chocolate. Mostly a bitter stout, but there is a subtle sweetness lingering in the background. Medium body and medium carbonation.
