4.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 23, 2013 For my birthday my girlfriend gave me 30 beers with 30 memories incorporated into the name. This one was Strohs Steelhead Stout. Named after the crazy boozy rum that turned me bright red and made me hallucinate. She asked when I wanted to wake up the next morning and I replied, The internet. Anyways, that stuff is good and this beer is better.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled: unk, appears a time back provided the amount of yeast at the bottom...
A: black with a finger of light mocha which falls to a sheet of the same. Cobweb lace.
S: coffee, cocoa, astringency. Standard stout with a hint of chemical tones.
T: Nice and roasty with chocolately malts and some dirty coffee grounds that motion in at mid palate to take over and last and last as the finish line is long here.
M: Medium on thin with moderate carb. Semi dry finish.
O: Nose was off, and could appreciate some more body in the beer, but the flavor was quite nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
$2.25 for the 12oz. bottle purchased from Grand Trunk earlier today. Purplish dark brown pour with a fluffy off-beige head half a finger in length. Smells and tastes of sorghum molasses, tobacco, lactose, and milk chocolate. Yeast, granny smith apples, and roast by swallow. Lighter and waterier than expected.

Had this with a Trout Roll from Bistro on Spruce in Coeur d'Alene. Went together pretty well and it is National Stout Day so it was fitting :)

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle into British honeycomb tankard. Dark thin tan head. Strong aroma of roasted chocolate. Similar taste w hints of coffee and dry toffee. Mild hops which I also like. Not too heavy or thick like an imperial. Great easy drinking stout for a cold night.
