| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 20, 2007 From bottle : Pours a black as night color, with a small short lived borwn coffee colored head. A nice aroma, like a chocolate candy bar, very good, like you could eat the smell of this baby. Flavor is really fantastic. Coffee notes up front, then a very nice ending, it goes from malty, then transitions into roasted chocolate, and thats the aftertaste it leaves. Smooth as velvet on the palate, and a nice and thick body. This has to be one of the best stouts i’ve had to date. Wow. Darkover (1311), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma is like chocolate milk. Full nectar w/ mellow residual effers creates a very creamy, milky texture. Big milk chocolate flavors bound together by a mild roast component. Theres a mild sweetness about it. The finish is bittered ever so slightly leaving a gentl tingle on the palate. jah noth (1015), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 1, 2004 Very dark pour with small caramel head. Scent of bitter chocolate and mild roastiness. Very nice nose. Nice roasted bitterness in the flavor - the hops, chocolate and slight coffee bounce around in unison. Light on the tongue. A delicious brew! baobubba (446), Corvallis, Oregon, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 15, 2003 Updated: Sep 22, 2003Very dark with a dark khaki cottonball-like head. Toasty aroma starts out as molasses, prune, coffee, with a little pine, and very little chocolate. Tart aromas come on as it warms bringing to mind cherries. Somewhat sweet with the requisite sour roasty finish. However the finish then moves into a bit of licorice and a lingering earthiness that is quite fascinating. Finish gets smokier as it warms. Great stout. hopscotch (5470), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Pitch black ale with a mid-sized, frothy, well-tanned head. Crimson highlights when held up to the Sun. Although the ABV is fairly low, this ale has a lot of Imperial Stout qualities. Full-bodied with notes of espresso, cocoa and smoke in both the flavor and aroma. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Lengthy, burnt, dry finish. Very, very nice!
