| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 20, 2009 12oz bottle into an English pint. Pours black with a nice light leather-colored head. The aroma is sweet and sour American stout with a touch of warm milk and a sprinkle of coffee and chocolate. The flavor is boldly roasty like chewing on black malt and is mixed with sweetness and a nice milk-chocolate coffee finish as you swallow and exhale. The mouthfeel is creamy but not quite thick with a good amount of carbonation to keep it even. I really liked this stout! ditmier (1122), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 15, 2008 Dark pour with a creamy head which does not last long. Wonderful balanced flavor. I can see with this little beauty if you like deserts it would be perfect with most. Taste as if all top notch malts and hops are used. It was a BOM club selection. Seems worth belonging to as they find all these great brews. hellbilly (1577), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 16, 2008 pours nearly opaque with lots of clumps of yeast and nearly black. it’s topped by a medium sized medium brown head that has some orange tints to it. intensely fruity aroma... strawberries and red table grapes mix with rich maltiness, chocolate, light molasses and smoky notes. the flavor is really quite rich... roasty grain, red grapes, fudgy chocolate, wood/oak/vanilla, some ash and a root beer/licorice/birch beer/sasparilla soda flavor that i can’t pinpoint. dry lightly spicy finish is bitter and ashy/charred. big ’ol coffee aftertaste. medium body with creamy soft carbonation when warm. (allow this to warm as the carbonation is prickly and unpleasant when cold!). i was not expecting this... i’m impressed! Beerlando (2367), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Thick, opaque, black body that is almost completely void of even the darkest brown highlights. This sucker is BLACK. A small, coffee colored head settles pretty quickly to a thin film with a prominent, bubbly edge. The aroma is rich, roasty, and creamy. Melted dark chocolate malts meld with freshly ground coffee beans, molasses, cream, and a touch of piney hops. The flavor is intensely roasty up front, with bakers chocolate and coffee assaulting the tongue. Cream smoothes things out considerably at the mid-point, finishing slightly dry and hoppy. Medium-full bodied and incredibly smooth and very well balanced. This is a damn good beer. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA
