COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A black opaque ale with rich creamy roasted malt character and a very mild hop complement. This beer may look a little scary but take a sip and you’ll see why this Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers. A unique flavor profile that starts with a slight coffee flavor and finishes with a hint of roasty chocolate. Try a pint with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. This beer is a favorite as a compliment to any dessert or as a hearty breakfast drink.

Poured from the bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a black color with only the slightest dark brown hue and a very small, dark-tan, creamy head with short retention, and light lacing and cling. The aroma was a coffee-chocolate malty mix with a roasted malt effect, along with some oats and barley, and a bit of earthy hops. The taste was a sweet-bitter blend with a coffee and caramel malt flavor mixed with a bit of bitter and sour earthy and grainy hops. It was a slightly creamy and wet beer with low carbonation and fizz, and had a lighter mouthfeel, which was a touch watery.

12 fl oz bottle into glass. Delicate milk chocolate nose. Totally opaque black beer with thin tan head. Taste is fruity, fizzy chocolate. Slight bitterness in the finish. Good nightcap.

Heavy coffee smell, very dark, taste is the same, one dimensional, all coffee and nothing else, smoothes out with time.

Bottle from Sake Taniguchi (World Beer Market). Deep, thick dark chocolate nose, with dark roastiness, vanilla, sweet and a bit ashy. Dark brown, creamy head, good lace. Medium coffee initial, a light meaty note in mid, generous chocolate, and even a little touch of acidity in finish. Medium-heavy body. Seriously enjoyable aroma, some umami notes. Flavors are intense, and sort of all over the place. Still, very delicious stuff.

Nice and dark, good supplement to a burger. Phases were fairly simple, could have been thicker on the palate.

355ml bottle. Pours an opaque black, with a moderate beige head, which lasts fairly well and leaves decent lacing. Roasty malt, black coffee and nutty, savoury notes create the aroma. Mild herbal hops up front give way to bittersweet cocoa and nutty notes in the mid-palate, with black coffee in the finish. A decent, enjoyable stout.

Bottle. Pours clear black with a small light brown head. The aroma has strong notes of good dark chocolate, as well as coffee and roasted malt. The flavour has roasted malt, some hops, coffee and chocolate. The palate is fairly light and dry.

"mild hops, heavily roasted aroma and flavor. this is an above average stout, but i do wish the mouthfeel was a little heavier. great mingling of the malt and light hops, though."

From 12 oz bottle. Pours a completely opaque black with not even a hint of a highlight. Dark brown head which collapses to a cap. Aromas of stewed plums, raisins, cocoa powder and coffee. Taste is dark fruit initially building to a roasty black coffee bitterness. That gives way to dark chocolate towards the end. Long, lingering slightly smoky finish with a currant and raisin aftertaste. Awesome stuff.
