COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A black opaque ale with rich creamy roasted malt character and a very mild hop complement. This beer may look a little scary but take a sip and youíll see why this Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers. A unique flavor profile that starts with a slight coffee flavor and finishes with a hint of roasty chocolate. Try a pint with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. This beer is a favorite as a compliment to any dessert or as a hearty breakfast drink.

Pours a basically black color with a medium head and good lace.

The beer is particularly aromatic. Chocolatly with some mild ashiness and berries. The mild but troublesome character of cardboard is present in the aroma.

The flavor is very roasty to the point of being ashy. The beer is nicely bitter and has a lot of chocolate without sacrificing a good deal of dryness.

This is pretty nice beer but itís a touch short of greatness, I canít imagine that this isnít freshest as I bought this about the moment they started selling it on the Des Moines market, but I want to think that the beer would be significantly better at source.

@ Party Town / Florence KY --- Opaque dark brown with 1" brown head, bands of lace. Taste is roasted malt with coffee and chocolate entering in the palate, a light tart berry and bittering in the finish. There is a lot going on here, but the combination is not an enjoyable thing for me. Decent, not great.

Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Very dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma of burnt malt, coffee. Dry roasty palate, a little dusty and ashy, coffee. Solid stout.

Sweet chocolate/coffee aroma, jet black with a very thin creamy head, rich bitter chocolate and caramel flavours. I could drink a lot of this stuff!

This is a fine example of a smooth, tasty stout. Roasted malty creaminess with a little hops boost on the back end. Watch how it all went down: http://teamchug.com/?p=139

Bottle from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Jet black, with a decent, off-white head. Big, plain chocolate and charred malts aroma. Flavour had more chocolate and roasted malts, before a dry finish. Very good.
