COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Coffee Stout is rich and smooth with just a hint coffee flavor. It is crafted using five different malted grains, which results in dark color and flavors of chocolate and heavily roasted malt. We then partnered with Des Moines based U.S. Roasterie to select a Mocha Java coffee to add depth and flavor to beer. We think it turned out great and hope you will agree!

Black pour with a 3 finger, mocha head that has good retention and leaves some lacing. Aroma is roast, roasted nuts, dark caramel, a hint of earthy charand molasses. Flavor is sweet nutty toffee and chocolate syrup right away, followed by some charred roast, roasted nuts, bready yeast, light metallic notes, dark toasted bread and burnt sugar. Medium body with a slightly dry, and more slightly oily feel, light but a tad sharp carbonation. Solid, but not spectacular coffee stout.

Pours pitch black with a brown head. Nose of coffee and some sweet chocolate. Wonderful aroma of coffee, with some hints of chocolate. Not as balanced and deep as I expected, but decent coffee aroma.

Earthy, mineral, dark coco aroma. Bittersweet, coffee, chocolate, oat grains, and aged toffee for flavors. Earthy, satisfying finish. This is decent.

Pours dark black with tan head. Aroma is dark malts, chocolate and coffee. Has a slick oily mouthfeel. Dark roasty malts, chocolate, and coffee. Not a whole lot more to say, nothing special but a good enough coffee stout.

Pour out of a bomber bottle. Dark black pour with a medium sized tan head. Aroma of coffee is instant with a little dark chocolate on the nose. First few sips were a bit too much bitter coffee but the longer that this one sits the better it starts to taste. Would buy again.

Bottle from cyclone liquor in ames. Nice dark appearance with head but aroma and taste of a cheap cup of coffee.

Bomber shared by Folty at Darkness Day 2012 - thanks! Dark pour with minimal head. Kind of a simple coffee and slightly sweet taste. Not bad.
