3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 fidelis83 (1589) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - MAR 21, 2013
Lightly hazy, clear, dirty copper pour with a 2 finger, creamy, off white head that has great retention and leaves great lacing. Aroma of big citrus and pine, raw acidic hop bite, hints of biscuit and caramel, but mostly big citrus hops. The flavor has a bit more malt presence, toast, biscuit, caramel and a bit of barley sweetness up front, then the hops roll in, big citrus and planty pine sprouts, acidic hop twang and some earthy, spicy and herbal notes. Medium body with an acidic feel on the palate and teeth, moderate carbonation. Pretty freaking good overall, definitely a good dose of hops for the money. Drinks like a highly hopped IIPA, but a little lacking in the brighter citrus/fruity hop notes.
