Multiple pints at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of chocolate, maple syrup, some earthy hints. Tastes of maple syrup, chocolate, oak, some molasses with a dark fruity finish.

On tap at brewpub. Anything you would expect from a porter (Carmel, chocolate, coffee) with some maple syrup touches. Low carbonation high flavor ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The "Sugar Shack Porter," as it was called at Saratoga Beer Summit this past weekend, pours a dark brown/red color with a tan head. Hint of roast in the aroma, but mostly dominated by a sweet, syrupy scent. You immediately understand why this porter is called "Sugar Shack." Maple and sugar are readily abundant, slight roasty and earthy notes, some molasses. This is almost something I’d rather have over pancakes than in my glass, but I wouldn’t rule it out as a decent choice for a sweet porter.
