On tap at the brewpub Pours a clear reddish brown color with a smallish tan head that dissipates almost instantly. Smells of cherries and other dark pitted fruits, alcohol and a plastic phenolic in there as well. Taste is a mix of cherry syrup and alcohol on top of a malty backbone. Medium to thick body, light carbonation, sweet sticky mouthfeel. I had high hopes for this one, but as has been my experience with Madison brewing thus far this beer is OK but nothing special.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark amber brown with a thick white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt. Flavor of sweaty hops, sweet malt. Decent, not very exciting, but drinkable. 6/4/6/3/13 [3.2/5]

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear deep amber with a light brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of sweet malts with bread and caramel present and just a bit of backing grapefruit. Flavor started with the same sweet notes, had a bit of fruit come in and some grapefruit in the finish.

Lubiere (7003) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 9, 2009
A dark clear reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. A light caramel aroma, light British aroma. In mouth, a rather weird nutty roasted malt, a bit light. Not bad, but not outstanding. On tap at brewpub, August 2 2009.
